May Birthday Cards

RIMG5940, originally uploaded by Bio-hazar.

Today I had a day off, so I've used the time to get caught up with some Birthday cards in May. The first one is for my Father-in-law, who spent his birthday in Cornwall, which gave me a few extra days to get a card made. The image was downloaded from Digital Two for Tuesday and coloured in with Promarkers. I used this weeks sketch from the CPS blog as a base of my layout. I cut out the wave pattern with the CraftRobo and the papers used were from the Basic Grey Wisteria collection. The card was finished off with ribbon and marbled tiles. Inside the card I put the poem "Sea Fever"

"I MUST down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by, And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking, And a gray mist on the sea's face, and a gray dawn breaking. I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied; And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying, And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying. I must down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life, To the gull's way and the whale's way, where the wind's like a whetted knife; And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover, And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over."

The second card I made today was for a good friend. The image is my new Wiffs of Joy stamp coloured in with ProMarkers and accented with stickles. I used Crate paper and stamped the background with Sandilion stamps and Distress Ink. The sentimates were printed from the computer. The card was finished off with ribbon and My Minds Eye croched flowers.
