Think Monday - Spring Bloom
For this weeks Think Monday Think ATC challenge with the theme of "Spring". My first thought on the theme were all the blooms that are starting to show on the trees. The background was done by dry brushing Ranger Dabbers Cool Peri and Juniper Acrylic paints and then sprinkling UTEE on the edges and heating slightly to give texture. The printed image of a cherry blossom was texturized in Adobe Photoshop before being printed out and attached with Gel Medium. Words were stamped with ProvoCraft Swell.

UKS Weekley Challenge - My Dad
I managed to get some time today to do some scrapbooking. I did this one for the weekly challenge on UKScrappers. The challenge was to use oval shapes, pastel colours, flower paper, black & white photo and a bit of sparkle. Done using Bazzill and Stamping up card stock, Rustle Pickle Chocolate Bunnies range patterned papers, Fancy Pants Big Board Paisleys painted with Ranger Paint Dabbers, clear Stickles and ribbon. Oval shapes and title were cut using the Craft Robo. The photo is of my dad when he was a baby. I hope to get a bit more information on it from him, and may add some more journaling once I have it. I also manage to do another LO as well today and made a start on my 2006 album. Not bad, only two years behind in scarping my photos. Thanks for looking.

Think Monday - Texture
Here is the ATC I've done for this weeks Think Monday challenge. This weeks theme was "Texture". I have done this one using acrylic texture paste with sand and added in some Ranger terracotta paint. Then added printed images and accented the texture with light and gold paint. Then I added ribbon and a metal charm coloured with alcohol inks. The top image is of a shattered window and I made the ATC so that they will open to reveal the image of the angel. Below is a photo of the ATC with the shutters opened. I also stamped the title "Angelic View" onto the inside of the shutters using Hero Arts Tiny Dot stamps and Ranger Distress Ink.
I've done this challenge as a set of three. The other two in the set are shown below. All these ATCs plus others are available for trade. Just leave a comment if you'd like to trade. Thanks for looking.

ISMAKI Challenge 11
Finally got around to doing some crafts this week. Firstly here is a Birthday card made for this weeks ISMAKI challenge. Done using Bazzil card stock, Anna Griffin paper, Paper Arts stamp and Ranger Distress Inks. Sorry the quality of the picture isn't very clear, it's a scan of the card rather than a photo, as I'm experiencing some problem with my camera at this time. There is actually a patterned background paper that shows up as white in this picture.
Secondly are some ATCs for a swap on UKscrappers, where you have to make a set of ATC all in one colour. I choose the colour purple. Done using Ranger Paint Dappers, Distress Inks, Anna Griffin paper, Crafty Individual and Tim Holtz stamps, metal brads, paper flowers and Ranger Stickles glitter. It also fits this weeks Wednesday Stamper challenge of "Purple"
The Bead Shop
Long time no blog! I seem to be very behind this week in updating my blog. This might be because I've not really done any crafts this week. My one day when I usually get to do crafts is Wednesday, but this Wednesday I took a friend of a friend up to London. I meet Kelly through a friend at church. She and her family are over from America for a few months but head back soon. I meet Kelly and her daughter at Lewisham Station and we traveled up into London together. While there we visited three very different bead shops. First one was called "The Bead Shop", then we visited "The London Bead Company". Finally we popped into "Aura Beads" in Neal's Yard. Then we enjoyed a lovely lunch at the "Cafe Eterno" which is run by the London City Mission.
The above photo is from the window of the "The Bead Shop" and below is some photo's taken at Neal's Yard.

UKScrappers Weekly Challenge
This is the layout I've done for this weeks team challenge on UKScrappers which was to do a LO with the theme of Friendship, Scrap-lift one of your friends LOs (I choose my friend PinkFairy) use at least one circle to represent friendship and use something metal (I used metal brads). This LO was done using white card stock, K&Co K-Ology Addison papers, Woodware chip board pieces embossed with Cuttlebug Perfect Paisley embossing folder and painted with Ranger Paint Dabbers. The circle and title were cut with my CraftRobo and the font for the title was "Missed Your Exit". Other parts of the title were stamped with Hero Arts Tiny Dot Letters stamps. LO was finished off with paper flowers and metal brads.
Palm Sunday
Today is Palm Sunday, the day in which Christian's all over the world will be celebrating Christ's journey into Jerusalem. Today we had a family service at our church with the children contributing to all aspects of Worship, from singing, reading scriptures and praying. I think this follows on well from what we had yesterday at Worship Central about what worship is. Thanks to Al and Tim for a great day! We had a great session by NT Wright on Who is Jesus? There was quiet a lot said in a very short time, so I think I'll have to visit his site and have a listen to some of this other material.
Blessings to you all on this special day that God has given us.

Cheese, Game and Small
This is for this weeks entry for the Photo Scavenger Hunt. I really struggled with this weeks words "Cheese, Game and Small" At first I wasn't sure that I could get one photo with all the words, so I tried a few photo of a giant game board we have that has a mouse game in it. Then I decided to use a piece of cheese as a game piece. After seeing the "mini" Babybel in the fridge I thought this could be small as well. So ended up with this photo of "Small Cheese and Game". I also did a few really small shots of seed beads. A couple of my favourites are below. Thanks for looking!

Think Monday - Strike A Pose
I've enjoyed having a crafty day today and I've also been looking at different blogs to see what everyone else is doing in the crafting world. I found this another challenge site, this time for ATC. It's called "Think Monday" and every Monday a new theme is announced. So I've decided to give it a go. This weeks theme was "Fashion", and this was the result. I've done it using a technique from Artist Trading Cards Workshop with a printed image and text. I've also used coloured pencils, Ranger Paint, Distress Inks and stamps.

Beauty ATC
I've had a nice afternoon making some ATCs that I've promised for a couple of swaps that I'm in this month. The one at the top was done using a technique from "Artist Trading Card Workshop" book that I got recently. The background is done by adding water based paints to a wet baby wipe and then letting it dry. It's then cut to ATC size (2 1/2 by 3 1/2") and glued to a piece of backing card stock. The image was downloaded on-line by doing a google search for free vintage images. It was cut out, added and altered with coloured pencils and paint. Title was stamped onto a scrap of text from an old book. I really love the result of this one, and am very reluctant to give it away for the swap. I might try to make another one for myself to keep :)
The two ATCs below are also for swaps. "The Art of Sound" one is one of a set of three. Done using Cuttlebug Allegro Embossing folder, Ranger Distress inks, Crafty Individual stamp, crackle medium, printed text, ribbon, staples and a charm covered in alcohol inks. The Distressed one is also one of a set of three ATCs for UKStampers monthly swap. This months theme is "Distressed" Done using card stock that is rubbed with Ranger Hazelnut Paint dapper then inked over with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The card stock was then embossed with Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes folder and sanded down. Pieces of an old book were then torn and inked with Vintage Photo and stamped with Crafty Individual stamp and glued to the distressed card stock. The believe definition was printed from the computer and crumpled and inked with Ranger Distress Ink Vintage Photo and spiced marmalade. It was then backed with brown card stock and glued to the card stock. I used Ranger alcohol inks on a metal brad and used it to attach ribbon to the top of the card stock and then back to whole think onto brown card stock.

Mothering Sunday
I'm a couple of days late posting this, but this is the card I made for my Mother-in-law for Mothering Sunday. I haven't made my mother one yet, because Canada doesn't celebrate Mother's Day till second Sunday in May.
We decided we would take my MIL out for lunch after church. We went to our first choice only to find a 45 min wait. So it was decided that we would try someplace else. We drove around in very bad traffic trying to find somewhere that still had room on Mother's Day when we hadn't booked a table. We ended up at one of my MILs favourite restaurants in Black Heath called Cafe Uno. We had a lovely appraisers of goats cheese on toasted crusty bread. My Father in Law and I had thin crust Italian pizza's, Peter had steak and my MIL had mushroom crepes. It was a lovely meal and even better that we used MILs loyalty card and got 15% off our meal!
The card was made using my new Cuttlebug "Build-a-Flower" cut and emboss die system. That I just received from the US the day before. I coloured the petals with Ranger Paint Dabbers and put the flower together with a crystal brad. Background paper is We R Memory Keepers Urban Window Collection. The ribbon is Die Cut With a View self adhesive ribbon. The text was done using Rubbadubbadoo Stick 'n Stamp magnetic range and the scroll is my new Basic Grey Two Scoops Swirlie stamps.
Thanks for looking :)

Green, Round and Four
Found this new thread on UKscrapper today in which someone has started a photo scavenger hunt. The idea is that three words are list and you find things to photography that match the words. It all open to interpretation and you can take photo that represent only one of the words or two or all. This weeks words were Green, Round and Four.
The above photo is using all three of the words and the one below using just "round and green". I had fun with this challenge and hope to take part often.
Other new from the same forum is that my "Frosty Morning" photo from my previous post in February as been chosen in the final 20 to be voted on. So if you are on UKS I'd love your vote!

The Young Ones
Had a great afternoon today going to my friends Scrapaholics crop that she runs. This months kit had some scummy Sharon Ann papers and some lovely chipboard pieces. While I was there I finally got to meet another on-line friend "Busy Mum" and we had a great day full of laughs and of course CAKE! Thanks Pinky for another successful crop, the lovely cake and cups of tea. Also while I was there I did some stash shopping from Scrapsentiments and got some lush new Basic Grey Two Scoops stamps. Can't wait to use them.
The Layout I did was done using Bazzill Bling card stock, Sharon Ann Deja Veiws Blue Tiles and Brown Ledger papers, Ranger paint Dabbers, Woodware die cut chipboard shapes, title cut with Sizzix Pep Squad font, journaling done with Hero Arts Tiny Dots UPPERCASE Alphabet stamps.
